Critiquing Anderson-Angelina

> Update: 1:45pm: “Hey, if Angelina can get us a day of substantive programming on CNN, let’s have her on every night,” an e-mailer says. I’d rather have two hours of Anderson-Angelina a day than the usual 24 hours of repackaged Paula Zahn Now pieces on running over my kids with my SUV!”

angelinajune21.jpgSome of the reactions to last night’s Anderson-Angelina sit-down:

> At the end of MSNBC’s Situation last night: Willie Geist: “I don’t know if you heard, there was an interview over on another network, Anderson Cooper and Angelina Jolie.” Tucker Carlson: “We were talking about Iraq on this show. I missed that.” Geist called the interview “a dispatch from the edge…or a dispatch to the Beverly Hills Hilton, where they did the interview.”

> Jossip’s favorite exchange:Angelina: It was probably, to this day, the worst camp I’d ever seen. Anderson: Had you ever seen anything like that before? Angelina: I hadn’t seen anything like that.”

> “The interview will probably be noted by most viewers for what Angelina Jolie did not do, by comparison with the tragic, disheveled, Southern-fried cri de coeur performance that Britney Spears gave alongside Matt Lauer last week on NBC’s ‘Dateline.’” Example: No gum chewing. –TMZ.com
