David Ensor Resigns From CNN; He’s Taking A “Non-Television Job In Europe”

Here’s the memo from Washington Bureau Chief David Bohrman:

“After nearly eight years with CNN, our colleague David Ensor has tendered his resignation and has decided to pursue a non-television job in Europe. David has been a tremendous asset for the network and his distinguished career still holds strong. From his first day with the network, in 1998, David has covered the important beat of National Security, which has become more significant in today’s changing world…”

“…In addition to his many reports on the intelligence community and national security, David has prepared acclaimed documentaries, such as the CNN Presents “Winning the War on Terror,” “Dead Wrong,” and “Warsaw Rising,” which won a National Headliner Award as well as the Knight’s Cross by the president of Poland. The regard in which David has held by his colleagues has added invaluably to our ability to cover stories — the Sept. 11 attacks, the USS Cole bombing, the NSA data challenges, the London terror bombings, Iraq and weapons of mass destruction, the death of Zarqawi, and especially during the past few days leading the way on the North Korea missile story. David was also instrumental in building the D.C.-based America bureau, and we’re grateful for his many contributions and great reporting. I have known David for more than 20 years, both here and at ABC News. He has always been a wonderful reporter, and a great colleague. Please join me in wishing David and his family all the best in the future. DB.”
