Double Vision: Seismologist Appears On NBC and CBS Evening Newscasts at Same Time

Following the extremely unusual east coast earthquake yesterday, network evening news viewers were treated to an equally unusual sight. USGS seismologist Lucy Jones was on both the “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” and the “CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley” at the exact same time.
Neither NBC nor CBS had a “live” bug on their interviews with Jones–and she obviously can’t be in two places at once–so one or both of her interviews were clearly taped in advance.
Jones appeared on “Nightly” starting exactly at 6:37:00 PM ET, with CBS beginning its interview at 6:37:50 PM ET. For a half-minute or so, Jones was explaining the earthquake on both NBC and CBS.
