FBN Cancels Paulson After He Doesn’t Honor Exclusive

Ballsy — did FBN actually cancel on the Secretary of the Treasury?

With some turbulent days in the U.S. markets recently, Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson made the morning rounds on Good Morning America and the Today show Tuesday. CNBC even took the rare step of simulcasting the Matt Lauer interview, which may have been the last straw for their competitor.

An anonymous tipster wrote that Paulson’s interview with FBN’s Neil Cavuto was to be taped yesterday afternoon and played at 6pmET. FBN had even been promoting it as an exclusive. But the interview never happened.

Sources tell TVNewser, after Paulson appeared on other networks, FBN gave him the option to appear live at 11amET. Paulson couldn’t make that time, so FBN canceled.
