FNC “Trying To Move The Ball Forward?”

In a story about the network’s daytime moves, TV Week notes that “Fox News has suffered some erosion among its 25- to 54-year-old audience, the news viewers most prized by advertisers. The network retains a Grand Canyon of a lead over second-place CNN in that age group and in total viewers.”

So what’s the impetus behind the FNC changes? News EP Jay Wallace says the network is “just trying to move the ball forward, especially with comments from Washington and elsewhere, getting ahead of the story. I think that’s the biggest challenge for everyone’s daytime.”

(Huh?) Update: 4:36pm: Looks like I wasn’t the only one saying “huh?” “TV Week severely botched up Wallace’s quote as he was referring to being first and ahead of the stories coming out of Washington and elsewhere,” an insider says…
