FOX Wins the Night With ‘Dance;’ 16.5 Million Watch Obama on Big Three Nets

FOX’s decision not to carry Pres. Obama’s news conference gave a boost to “So You Think You Can Dance.”

The two-hour program saw its A18-49 average grow 8% week-to-week, likely gaining viewers against the news conference on the other three broadcast networks.

According to Nielsen overnights, 16.5 million Total Viewers watched Pres. Obama on ABC, NBC, and CBS. That’s down from the 19 million who watched Obama’s April 29 news conference. But ratings for the 8pmET hour are approximate, because the numbers are based on timeslot and not program performance. Final ratings for broadcast and cable news will be out later today.
