Geist Talks Blago as TV Star on Today’s “Menu”: “I Think He’s Too Crazy”
Morning Joe‘s Willie Geist joined us this morning on the mediabistro.com Morning Media Menu podcast, minutes after leaving the MSNBC set. In fact, he was still wearing his studio make-up (“Even when I’m not on TV, I like to wear make-up for interviews,” he said).
Does Geist think Gov. Rod Blagojevich will be the next big media star? “I think he’s too crazy,” he said.
We also talked about last night’s Super Bowl — and NBC breaking records for ad sales. “It’s hard to imagine worse economic times, and people [are] still jumping at the chance to throw down three million bucks for 30 seconds,” said Geist.
One of the Super Bowl ads people are talking about today is Pepsi’s Bob Dylan/will.i.am ad. Willie liked it, but “I’m not sure Will-dot-I-dot-M is the voice of this generation. Maybe he is and I don’t know about it.”
Also discussed: Sarah Palin‘s political future, Caroline Kennedy‘s media meltdown and more.
