Headline Prime: Premiere Night #’s

It was a mixed premiere night for Headline News. (The ratings for Monday were delayed because of the President’s Day holiday.) At 7pm, Showbiz Tonight earned only a 0.1, with 113,000 HH and 142,000 viewers. “But it looks like Keith Olbermann has some competition at 8pm,” an insider remarked: Nancy Grace averaged a 0.3 and 316,000 viewers while MSNBC averaged a 0.3 and 337,000 viewers. At 9pm, Prime News Tonight delivered a 0.2 and 226,000 viewers, losing one-third of its lead-in. Not surprisingly, Grace is HLN’s top draw; Let’s see if the network can gradually attract more viewers, and improve its primetime ratings…
> Update: 3:31am: In the 25-54 demo, MSNBC clearly beat Headline News, with Countdown earning 180,000 viewers compared to HLN’s 138,000 in the demo. (FNC Had 597,000 and CNN had 223,000.)
