HLN Wins Casey Anthony Hour, Without Coverage of Anthony Leaving Jail
While Fox News, CNN and MSNBC carried live coverage of Casey Anthony leaving jail, being taken to an airport and heading for obscurity, except for those book/TV offers, HLN didn’t. And during the MidnightET hour Sunday, when the news happened, HLN came out the ratings winner in Total Viewers, with FNC edging competitors in younger viewers.
- MidnightET Sunday
HLN — 728,000 / 223,000
FNC — 590,000 / 242,000
MSNBC — 445,000 / 217,000
CNN — 322,000 / 103,000
While HLN didn’t carry the actual live coverage of Anthony’s release, the network spent most of its day and overnight hours covering the case. The network won the 11pm and 1am hours in Total Viewers as well.
