Injured CBS Reporter Returning to US
CBS Reporter Cami McCormick will be transported to Walter Reed Army Medical Center sometime this week — as early as tomorrow — after sustaining injuries from an IED explosion while she was traveling with a group of U.S. Army members in Afghanistan. One of the soldiers was killed and two others were injured.
As we reported yesterday, McCormick had been moved to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany for further treatment. At Landstuhl, McCormick was evaluated and treated for fractures to her arms and legs sustained last week.
The U.S. Army has released the name of the soldier who was killed during the explosion, Spc. Abraham S. Wheeler III, 22, of Columbia, SC. The military has detained three suspects in connection.
