On Morning Joe today, the hosts poked a little fun at their uptown rival, American Morning on CNN. They used the Jon Stewart clip (see it here) from the other night to point out that American Morning has taken to using popular music to set up segments and doing it to an overstated degree.
Mika Brzezinski: Kind of seems like they’re doing what we do.
Joe Scarborough: They do. They started doing that. People noted they’re going to try to get more casual over there. But to be more casual, you have to yell at each other, too.
David Shuster: You know that old saying imitation is the most sincerest form of flattery, except when it’s a really bad imitation.
