‘It’s Six Degrees of Cleveland’
What do FBN’s Liz Claman, NBC’s Al Roker, and CNN’s Tony Harris all have in common? They worked in local TV in Cleveland, OH.
An article in today’s Cleveland Plain Dealer catalogs the many tv newsers who came out of that market, which includes Claman (WEWS), Roker (WKYC), and Harris (WJW), who hosted Channel 8′s “P.M. Magazine.”
At Fox, Claman is joined by Fox News’ Gretchen Carlson (WOIO) and FBN’s Adam Shapiro (WEWS), both Cleveland TV veterans.
“I don’t think it’s just magic that we all ended up at Fox,” Claman said. “I think it’s because Cleveland is a big, grown-up city and a big market that tests your skills and your personality. I know that I learned more in Cleveland about relating to an audience than I did anywhere else.”
Others who worked in Cleveland: HLN’s Robin Meade (WJW), CNN’s Carol Costello (WAKR), NBC’s Martin Savidge (WJW), NBC’s Kelly O’Donnell (WJW) (who is on the cover of Cleveland Magazine this month).
And that’s your Midwestern trivia for today, Monday, December 7th.
