Madden NFL 12 will be released in August, regardless if there’s a NFL lockout.
According to the Sports Business Daily Journal, EA Sports will pay a reduced fee next season for the league’s team names, logos and colors because of the NFL’s labor situation.
“For one of our core partners in a difficult environment, we say let’s look at this, and maybe it makes some sense to extend something out longer and give our partner some relief in the short term but gain something on the back end,” said Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver, who is the chairman of the NFL’s business ventures committee.
Assuming there’s a season, Aaron Rodgers can look forward to the “Madden Curse.”
