Memorial Service for Keith Olbermann’s Father

Last night’s “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” was an encore of Olbermann’s hour-long Special Comment on health care. During that hour, Olbermann, who lost his father last Sunday, called for action on health care reform and asked viewers to donate to the National Association of Free Clinics. As a result, NAFC raised more than $2.1M from more than 32,000 donors. This resulted in four free health care clinics which can serve more than 5,300 patients.

A private memorial service was held Thursday for Olbermann’s father. In lieu of flowers or cards, the family asks that viewers donate to the National Association of Free Clinics.
