Networks Air Special Reports to Report Dow Plunge

Just after 4 PM, when the markets closed, the big three broadcast networks all broke into regular programming to air brief special reports on the loss of more than 500 points by the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

Brian Williams anchored for NBC, Scott Pelley anchored for CBS and David Muir anchored for ABC.

The cable news channels were covering the lead-up to close nearly non-stop, with the business channels going commercial-free.
