NY Post: Regis Philbin Eyeing New Talk Show

The New York Post‘s Page Six reports that outgoing “Live with Regis and Kelly” host Regis Philbin is having discussions with syndicators about launching a new talk show.

Philbin has been in preliminary talks with syndicators, including Harpo and Sony, about hosting a talk show similar to “Live” but with more news coverage, insiders said.

Page Six also reports that Kelly Ripa is none too pleased with the possibility that her former co-host could soon become a competitor.Philbin announced he would be leaving the show in January.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the host having his own TV show. Even at 79, Philbin shows no signs of slowing down.
