Rick Kaplan To CBS?

Rick Kaplan “is rumored to be coming to CBS News to help boost Katie Couric‘s ratings on the ‘Evening News,’” Page Six says. (To what position?)

The story notes that Kaplan “has been unemployed since Dan Abrams replaced him last summer at MSNBC. CBS News denies Kaplan is coming aboard, but the buzz goes on.”

> Also: TV Week: “Year to year, ‘Evening News’ is down 2 percent from a year ago, when Bob Schieffer was keeping the anchor seat warm and the average total viewership was at 7.59 million.”

> Update: 11:39am: “Kaplan goes back to CBS and his blood feud with Paul Friedman can resume. Be fun to watch,” an e-mailer says…
