Roger Ailes On Tony Snow’s Final Days

Fox News Channel chairman Roger Ailes phoned in to Fox & Friends this morning to discuss his longtime friendship with Tony Snow and Snow’s final months.

We had word it wasn’t going well. I saw Tony — he came by to see me six months ago. We sat and talked for an hour or an hour and a half. I said, ‘how are you doing?’ He said ‘well, they tell me this thing is back a little bit.’ I said, ‘what are your plans?’ He said ‘I need to get money together to make sure the family is okay in case this doesn’t turn around.’ He was always thinking of them and always figuring out how to prepare just in case. I sent a note to Jill and told her that we heard he was having a rough time, she said he was pretty sick but she would be sure to read it to him. Then she e-mailed me back to say that he thanked everybody at Fox News.
