The public affairs show leaderboard shifts again this week, with ABC’s “This Week” delivering a win in both total viewers and the A25-54 demographic. The win was ABC’s largest total-viewer advantage over NBC in 16 years (since 8/31/97).
CBS’ “Face the Nation” was second, with “Meet the Press” falling back to third despite an exclusive interview with Susan Rice and NBC’s coverage of the Olympics. “Fox News Sunday” was fourth in total viewers and fifth in the demo, and Univision’s “Al Punto” was fifth in total viewers and fourth in the demo.
Compared to the same week last year, ABC, NBC, Fox and Univision are all up in both ratings measurements, with “Al Punto” showing the most growth: +50% in total viewers and +56% in A25-54 viewers. CBS was down -5% in total viewers and up +5% in the demo.
Cable replays of “Fox News Sunday” averaged a combined 1,778,000 total viewers and 310,000 A25-54 viewers. Rebroadcasts of “Meet the Press” averaged 501,000 total viewers and 169,000 A25-54 viewers (some rebroadcasts were preempted for coverage of the Olympics).
“Face the Nation” is based on the first half-hour only, as the full contiguous hour aired in just 50% of the country.
