While CBS News president David Rhodes (right) attended the memorial service for Mike Wallace Tuesday, seated next to presidential candidate Mitt Romney, his brother, Ben Rhodes was on his way to Afghanistan, seated next to — or at least near — Pres. Obama. Ben Rhodes is a deputy national security adviser in the administration and was on the trip to Bagram Air Field yesterday.

A year ago Tuesday, David Rhodes was at CBS News headquarters heading up the coverage of the death of Osama Bin Laden, while his younger brother was at the White House supporting the administration’s part in the raid that took out Bin Laden.

President Obama is making his way to the State Department to deliver a highly-anticipated speech on Middle East affairs.

CNN is going big on the coverage with a CNN/U.S. and CNNI simulcast beginning at 11:30amET. Wolf Blitzer, Suzanne Malveaux and Hala Gorani anchor coverage with Fareed Zakaria in Egypt, and Gloria Borger, John King, Henry and Jill Dougherty in DC as well as multiple correspondents in several North African and Middle Eastern countries.

FNC’s Jon Scott and Jenna Lee anchor with Mike Emanuel at the White House. Wendell Goler will anchor a special report for any Fox affiliates who choose to take it.

NBC’s chief foreign affairs correspondent Andrea Mitchell anchors on MSNBC with a panel that includes Chuck Todd and Richard Engel.

Pres. Obama will only be doing one TV interview after the speech, and it’s not with an American broadcaster. BBC gets the sit-down with Obama at the White House. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be giving an interview to Katie Couric. This is Couric’s last day with the CBS Evening News. She’ll return to New York this afternoon to anchor her final broadcast.

CBS News will broadcast a town hall with President Obama the morning of Wednesday, May 11. The town hall will be held at the Newseum in Washington DC, and will be moderated by “Early Show” co-anchor Erica Hill and “Face the Nation” moderator Bob Schieffer.

A live audience will ask questions focusing on the economy, with CBS News Business and Economics Correspondent Rebecca Jarvis facilitating questions.

The town hall will be broadcast during the 8 AM hour of the “Early Show,” the following day, May 12, with excerpts appearing the evening of May 11 on the “CBS Evening News” and “Face the Nation” the following Sunday. In addition, the entire event will be streamed unedited on CBS News’ YouTube page and on CBSNews.com.

Update: CBS will host a town hall about the economy with leading Republicans, next month.
