- C-SPAN will broadcast the funeral of former Senator and presidential candidate George McGovern Friday afternoon beginning at 2pmET. The service is being held at the Mary Sommervold Theatre in Sioux Falls, SD. McGovern died Sunday at age 90.
- Keir Simmons joins NBC News as a London correspondent. Simmons will report for “Today,” “NBC Nightly News,” MSNBC and NBCNews.com. Simmons joins from ITV News where he’s been UK editor for the last five years.

“The Insider” has named HLN anchor and CNN entertainment correspondent Brooke Anderson co-anchor of the program.
Anderson will join co-anchor Kevin Frazier on the program starting in May.
“I’m a huge fan of Brooke both professionally and personally,” said “Insider EP Linda Bell Blue in a statement. “I’ve admired her work on HLN and am thrilled that she is joining our ‘Insider’ family.”
> WaPo reports that the Newseum will host an event entitled “First Draft of History” in October, bringing together media and administration officials on the record. Newsers set to appear include: “Charlie Gibson and Brian Williams, along with Dan Rather, David Gregory, Chris Matthews, Maria Bartiromo, Chuck Todd, Chris Wallace and Jim Lehrer.”
> In a new partnership, Fox Business Network’s David Asman will be doing a 6pmET market recap on the Tennis Channel (starting today) and TC’s Kevin Frazier will be coming on FBN’s “Money for Breakfast” to deliver a recap of the US Open. This morning to help celebrate the partnership, FBN’s Charles Payne and Chris Cotter played Doubles Champs, Bob and Mike Bryan on a special Fox court. Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer took the mic on Entertainment Tonight over the weekend, as he gave a tour of his favorite neighborhood spots in New York City’s Greenwich Village.
Or, as host Kevin Frazier described it: “I guess it’s hunks at home day here at ET, because we have my good buddy and Fox News frontman Bill Hemmer kicking around New York.”
