The Ticker: NBC, CNN, CBS…

  • FishbowlNY reports WNBC’s annual holiday sing-along at the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree will not happen this year. Tuesday’s Nor’easter scrubbed the shoot, and the make-up day, Wednesday, turned out not to be available. WNBC plans to re-run last year’s event.

  • For the second consecutive year, CNN was named Cable & Satellite Channel of the Year at last night’s Asian Television Awards in Singapore. The network also won four other awards including for Best Current Affairs presenter which went to Kristie Lu Stout.

  • Les Moonves has had his CBS contract extended through June 2019, without a raise, but with performance-based bonuses. Moonves joined CBS in 1995 as President of Entertainment. He was named CEO of CBS Corp. in 2006, following the split of Viacom.

Harry Smith and Dr. Nancy Snyderman are covering for NBC News from Tacloban and Manilla.

ABC’s Terry Moran is in Manila, and Gloria Riviera is reporting from Tacloban.

CBS News correspondent Seth Doane is in the region.

CNN’s Senior international correspondent Ivan Watson, CNNI anchor Andrew Stevens and correspondent Paula Hancocks are in Tacloban, while CNNI anchor Kristie Lu Stout reports from Manila. Anna Coren is in Cebu. And Anderson Cooper will anchor his show from the Philippines tonight.
