Giants-Vikings Moved To Detroit Following Collapse Of Metrodome Roof

According to Rich Eisen of the NFL Network, the Minnesota Vikings-New York Giants game will now be played at Ford Field in Detroit due to the Metrodome roof collapsing.

There’s a new kickoff time as well – 7:20 p.m. ET. The game will still be shown locally on Fox in the Minnesota and New York markets and on the NFL Ticket package.

Monday will also mark the first night game in Detroit in nearly a decade … and of course the Lions aren’t in it.

Fox Sports pregame show had exclusive video as the collapse happened. Pam Oliver did a live shot for FOX NFL Sunday this morning showing a pile of snow mid-field and the tattered sections of the roof dangling from above.

Stan Lee, NHL Creating Hockey Superhero Franchise

The Guardian Project will feature 30 “guardians,” each representing an NHL team. The NHL says the content will “organically and authentically incorporates various NHL elements but is not set in the world of hockey.”

Guardian Media Entertainment is the new company which will oversee the project, which is slated launch in January 2011.

The 30 “Guardian” characters will be revealed during the 2011 NHL All Star Game January 30.

Joe Namath Joins Sirius XM Radio

In what can only be one of the most exciting moments for the guys at Kissing Suzy Kolber, Joe Namath will join Sirius XM, where he’ll host a weekly show called The Broadway Blitz with Joe Namath. It will debut Friday, September 17 at 2 p.m.

Namath is excited.

“It’s a real thrill for me to be joining SIRIUS NFL Radio and talking about the game I love with fans all over this country. I’ve been involved with football a long time and I still get excited about every season like I did when I was lacing up my cleats as a kid in Pennsylvania. I’ve got a lot of wisdom from my time in the NFL and a lot of thoughts about today’s players and teams. It’ll be fun to share them with our listeners and I look forward to hearing what they think as well.”

“Broadway Joe” does possess a wealth of football knowledge and co-host Adam Schein (Fox Sports, SNY) boasts broadcast experience. The show should be informative and entertaining. And there’s always the possibility Namath will go off the reservation. Read more
