20 Years of Univision’s ‘Primer Impacto’

primer impactoUnivision’s “Primer Impacto” will celebrate its 20th anniversary this weekend with a primetime special looking back at the program’s memorable interviews and moments.

For the special, which airs at 8pmET Sunday, the newsmagazine’s current anchors Barbara Bermudo and Pamela Silva Conde will be joined by former hosts Ilia Calderón and Satcha Pretto, along with former correspondents including Alejandro Mendoza, León Felipe González and Lourdes Stephen.

In a statement on the milestone, Univision president of news Isaac Lee called the newsmagazine “an invaluable resource to the communities we serve, informing and empowering them.”

Grover Anchors The News On Univision

The residents of Sesame Street popped in to Univision’s morning news program “Despierta America.”

As is often the case on serious news programs, the hosts pretended like they were real people, and not puppets.

It was Grover, however, who got to do something special. The blue Muppet put on a suit, tie and glasses, channeled his inner Jorge Ramos, and co-anchored alongside Satcha Pretto. He reported on a dog that can ride a scooter.

Inauguration 2013: Univision Coverage Plans

Univision’s coverage of President Obama’s second inauguration begins at 11amET Monday. Jorge Ramos will anchor from D.C., along with Satcha Pretto and Felix de Bedout. They will be joined by Lourdes Meluzá at the Capitol, Luis Megid at the National Mall, Nayeli Chávez-Geller on Pennsylvania Avenue and Blanca Rosa Vílchez from the White House.

Pamela Silva Conde will anchor “Primer Impacto,” Univision’s newsmagazine, live from Washington on Monday at 5pmET.

Univision will also have a special edition of “Al Punto” this morning during the private swearing-in ceremony, followed by a coast-to-coast update at 11:50amET.
