Rick Fox Joins NBA TV Roster

Former three-time NBA champion and Dancing With The Stars contestant Rick Fox will join the NBA TV crew and serve as a guest studio analyst throughout the upcoming season.

In his new role, Fox will provide the league’s 24-hour network with team analysis, player insights, and game-situation breakdowns.

He will make his NBA TV debut when he joins Brent Barry for the Orlando Magic, Portland Trailblazers and Utah Jazz for team preview shows airing on Sunday, Oct. 10 at 8:30 p.m. (ET) (Magic) and Monday, Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m. (ET) (TrailBlazers) and 8:00 p.m. (ET) (Jazz).

Fox joins Barry, Dennis Scott and Steve Smith as NBA TV analysts who played in the league.

Washington Nationals Part Ways With Rob Dibble

Rob Dibble, who took time off from his position as Washington Nationals color commentator after drawing fire for criticizing phenom Stephen Strasburg, will not return to the broadcast booth.

Dibble last appeared on August 25. He made his comments during a Sirius XM radio show.

The issue brings to mind Monday’s USA Today story about former athletes joining the broadcast booth. In the article, players including Rodney Harrison and Jeremiah Trotter discusses the difficulty of walking the line between being fair and being honest. Dibble crossed the invisible, and he paid the price with his job.
