Mika Brzezinski ‘Won’t Let’ Joe Scarborough Run for President

ScarboroughJoe Scarborough was absent from “Morning Joe” this morning following a weekend in New Hampshire promoting his book, “The Right Path.” Scarborough was also a speaker at the Northeast Republican Leadership Conference, which only heightened speculation he’s running for office.

The Atlantic reports organizers of the NRLC planned to include Scarborough in a straw poll, but left him off at the request of MSNBC.  Kentucky Senator Rand Paul won the poll.

Either way, Scarborough tells Politico, “I have no plans to run for office. I do plan, in my free time, to continue a book tour focused on getting the Republican Party back to its winning ways and talking about the economic revival in America’s future if Washington starts getting a few things right.”

For her part, co-host Mika Brzezinski said she’s not letting Joe run for office either. “I won’t let him…because I love my job,” Brzezinski said on this morning’s show.

The show ran clips of Scarborough speaking in New Hampshire, where he delivered his message that the road map to the GOP’s revival is running a presidential candidate that can get both Senator Ted Cruz and General Colin Powell‘s vote (speaking of the latter, did you see the 60-year-old selfie he posted last week?)

Sean Hannity Leaves Big Tip Following State of the Union Get-Together

HannityDinner

Sean Hannity was among a group dining at Ruth’s Chris in Washington, D.C. following the State of the Union last month. The diners, which included “Duck Dynasty” star Willie Robertson, CNN’s Newt Gingrich, and Sen. Ted Cruz, racked up a $5,000 bill.

TMZ reported the “Duck Dynasty” star picked up the bill and gave the wait staff a 100% tip. But sources tell TVNewser, it was actually Hannity who paid the tab and added the $5,000 tip. Hannity knows from service industry work: during college he worked as a dishwasher, bartender and short order cook.
