Rumors of a feud between Fox News chairman Roger Ailes and the children of Rupert Murdoch seemed to be put to rest last night.

Spies tell us News Corp.’s James Murdoch was seated at Roger Ailes‘ table at the Radio & Television Correspondents Dinner in Washington, DC. Murdoch and Ailes were friendly and cordial throughout the entire evening, making their way through Fox’s cocktail party and the dinner that followed.

37-year-old James Murdoch, the fourth of Rupert Murdoch’s six children, is Chairman and CEO of News Corp., Europe and Asia, overseeing British newspaper company News International, SKY Italia and STAR TV.

Pres. Obama’s senior adviser Valerie Jarrett was among other high profile guests of Fox and was also seated at Ailes’ table.

Pres. Obama Chastises Adviser for Watching Too Much TV

Women_3.15.jpgDuring this weekend’s Women in the World event hosted by The Daily Beast, Pres. Obama’s senior adviser Valerie Jarrett admitted to a daily cable television habit. “I watch Morning Joe every morning,” she told CBS’ Lesley Stahl.

Not surprisingly, she had some harsh words for a Fox Newser: “I don’t watch Glenn Beck. I watched it once, but I couldn’t finish the show. I was not entertained,” Jarrett said.

Jarrett says Pres. Obama calls her out for watching so much TV. “He chastises me regularly, saying ‘Turn it off. You’re making me crazy, just stop it.’” When Stahl asked Jarrett if she watches her show, “60 Minutes,” Jarrett said, “Yes. Everybody watches 60 Minutes. That’s serious journalism.”

Bill O’Reilly: ‘I Thought Campbell Brown’s Questioning was Excellent’

While Campbell Brown was playing more of her Valerie Jarrett interview on CNN last night, over on Fox News Bill O’Reilly was congratulating his competitor: “I thought Campbell Brown’s questioning was excellent,” said O’Reilly. He then brought in Baltimore Sun TV critic David Zurawik to talk about the “White House hypocrisy.”

Campbell Brown Says White House Should Target Bias on Right AND Left

campbellbrown_10-28.jpgOn her program last night, CNN’s Campbell Brown showed the interview with Obama Senior adviser Valerie Jarrett last evening, and added an editorial about the “White House war with Fox News.”

She told viewers, “What confuses me is that if the White House is really so concerned about bias in the media, then why are they only targeting Fox?”

“Jarrett seems loathe to admit that MSNBC has a bias,” she said, “And that is where I think the White House loses all credibility on this issue.” She admitted that “partisan opinion” has drawn big ratings for both of those networks.

“I’m not critical of what my friends at Fox News and MSNBC do, but it is apples and oranges when compared to what we at CNN do,” she added. “And we should all just acknowledge that.”

We should note, however, that Jarrett’s interview was prior to yesterday’s “truce.” Clip after the jump.

On this list: Katie Couric, Cindy McCain, Elizabeth Edwards, and Kate Gosselin of “John & Kate Plus 8″ (minus John) fame.

According to E!Online, the Gosselin invitation was the idea of Shriver’s daughters who are fans of the show. The invites were sent out five months ago – before the family started making tabloid headlines.

The SF Chronicle reports NBC’s David Gregory will moderate a panel at the event which will include Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and Shriver.
