The Ticker: Gibson, Afghanistan, $$$$…

> ABC’s Charles Gibson will interview Pres. and Mrs. Bush at Camp David this weekend. The interview will air Monday on “World News.” Gibson will fly with the Bushes aboard Marine One and then conduct a wide-ranging interview at the presidential compound.

> Tonight, BBC World News America turns its attention to Afghanistan. The program will begin three nights of coverage showing the challenges which remain more than seven years after the U.S.-led invasion.

> The NYTimes’ ad guy Stuart Elliot writes about how the downturn is creating a rise in cash giveaways, including the CNBC.com Million Dollar Portfolio Challenge…and it’s all about page views. “The prize money is certainly attractive,” said Tom Clendenin, VP of marketing at CNBC, adding, “we’re trying to capitalize on the traffic to the site.”
