The Ticker: Raddatz, Rather, Corrigan…

> ABC’s Martha Raddatz talks with B&C’s Marisa Guthrie about her series on where things stand in Afghanistan, including how the networks cover foreign news: “If your budget for foreign travel is different than it was before,” says Raddatz, “you make decisions about what’s important. That’s what we’re trying to do. Afghanistan is hugely important.” Raddatz’ reports begin airing tonight on World News.

> Dan Rather also recently traveled to Afghanistan. His reporting aired in a one-hour HDNet special. He’ll appear on PBS’ Worldfocus tonight to talk with anchor Martin Savidge about the situation on the ground in that country.

> Former NBC News general manager Bill Corrigan has died. Corrigan ran NBC’s newsgathering operations for 13 years, until his retirement in 1981. Once an associate producer of “The Huntley-Brinkley Report,” Corrigan worked in radio and TV News for 32 years including eight years at CBS. Corrigan was 87.
