> “Susan Roesgen, who has done some amazing post-Katrina reporting, adding her local touch to the stories, has filled in for Carol and everyone seems to like her chances. Her name has been mentioned.”

> “I would not be surprised if CNN moved Fredricka Whitfield to the prime time weekend slot, and replaced her with someone like Randi Kaye or Rick Sanchez, who (I think) originally came to CNN to anchor but have been stuck in reporter slots. Alternatively, they could move one of their best anchors overall, Betty Nguyen, to prime time.”

> This e-mailer sounds confident: “Fredricka Whitfield will replace Lin on the evening/primetime editions of ‘Newsroom,’ Randi Kaye will replace Whitfield on the afternoon edition of ‘Newsroom.’”

> “Hopefully, sweet, talented and gorgeous Betty Nguyen will replace Carol Lin.”
