Zain Verjee To Cover State Dept. For CNN

zainnov3.jpgEarlier this year, when CNN moved Andrea Koppel from the State Department to Capitol Hill, DC bureau chief David Bohrman said the network could cover State “without a full-time correspondent.” Apparently he has changed his mind.

Today the network said Zain Verjee is becoming State Department correspondent. Verjee used to co-anchor Your World Today, and currently she’s a contributor to The Situation Room. She moved to DC earlier this year.

The press release says she “will provide regular updates on the State Department as well as broader reporting on global affairs that touch the United States…”
