Carla Carpenter has been promoted to senior vice president of digital media at the ABC owned-and-operated stations.

Carpenter has been vice president and news director of WPVI, ABC’s O&O in Philadelphia, since 1997. In her new role, she will oversee development of strategies and initiatives involving the internet, digital channels and mobile platforms for the eight ABC owned stations.

“This promotion clearly recognizes Carla’s tremendous talents, vision and track record,” Rebecca Campbell, president of the ABC owned stations, said in a statement. “At the same time, it also reflects the cornerstone commitment our eight stations share in providing the best news and information product across all platforms.”
