Gallup Poll Shows Democrats Trust Media More

A new Gallup poll shows a record 60 percent of Americans have little to no trust in the mass media’s ability to report a story fully, fairly and accurately.  Gallup said this continues the trend of negativity towards the media increasing every election year compared to the year prior.

The poll also breaks down trust by political affiliation, with Republicans showing the least amount of trust in mass media.  While all three affiliations show a downward trend since 2001, Independents show the steepest drop especially over the last five years.

However an interesting twist shows that while Republicans trust the media less than their counterparts in other parties, they pay more attention to national political news.
