Gavin Maliska has been named news director at WGXA in Macon, GA.

Maliska comes to WGXA, a Fox-affiliate owned by Frontier Broadcast Holdings that also broadcasts ABC programming on a digital subchannel, from WJHG in Panama City Beach, FL, where he has served as news director since last summer.

Maliska began his TV career at WFLD in Chicago and since then he has been news director at WXIN in Indianapolis, WOFL in Orlando, and KECI in Missoula, MT.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Gavin previously,” said Rebecca Swan, WGXA’s vice president and general manager.  “We are very fortunate to attract such a talented and experienced news director.  Gavin knows how to win and he will be a true asset to our operation.”

Swan was the GM at KECI during Maliska’s time there.  She joined WGXA in March.
