In Cincinnati, Bill Fee Retiring as WCPO GM

WCPO You may not know Bill Fee, the big boss at WCPO-TV (Channel 9) who announced his retirement Thursday, but you know his work.

As Channel 9 vice president and general manager, he realized that you like consistency on your TV news, so he signed Clyde Gray, Carol Williams and Dennis Janson to long-term contracts. He also was the major force in the TV’s stations’ joint efforts to educate viewers about the transition from analog to digital TV last year, which was particularly troublesome for Channel 9. By the time he leaves the station on Dec. 31, he hopes to complete the switch to a new digital Channel 22 to improve reception and regain lost viewers. More…
