Jawan Strader has been named Weekend Evening anchor and reporter at NBC6 South Florida. Strader joins the station from crosstown rival, CBS-owned WFOR where he spent the last 10 years, most recently anchoring mornings.

Before South Florida, Strader was an anchor/reporter at WOIO and WKYC in Cleveland. He began his journalism career as a photographer/reporter for the Southwest Michigan bureau of WSBT in South Bend, Indiana, and has worked at KJRH in Tulsa and KXAN in Austin.

WFOR recently brought on Josh Benson as its new morning co-anchor.
