In WTEV Interview, Accused Hacker Apologizes For Leaking Nude Photos of Scarlett Johansson, Others

In an exclusive interview, WTEV‘s Chauncy Glover sat down with Christopher Chaney, the Jacksonville man accused of hacking into the cell phones and email accounts of stars like Scarlett Johansson and Mila Kunis and leaking nude photos of them online.

“It started as curiosity and it turned to just being addictive,” the 35-year-old accused hacker told Glover. “Seeing the behind-the-scenes of what’s going on with the people you see on the big screen.”  Video inside…

Chaney is accused of hacking into the email accounts and cell phones of roughly 50 celebrities, including Jessica Alba, Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus, and Vanessa Hudgens.  He’s been charged with 26 counts of identity theft, unauthorized access to a protected computer, and wiretapping and faces up to 121 years in prison.

The charges are the result of a yearlong federal investigation dubbed Operation Hackerazzi.

“I deeply apologize,” Chaney said. “I know what I did was probably the worst invasion of privacy someone could experience. I’m not trying to escape what I did. It was wrong. And I have to just face that and go forward.”
