Veteran reporter Jay Gormley is leaving KTVT, Dallas media blogger Ed Bark reports.

Gormley, who has been a nightside reporter since he joined the station in 1997, has accepted a job as the director of communications for Time Warner Cable in Dallas. He will sign off from KTVT, the CBS O&O, next Friday.

“It was such a great opportunity that I couldn’t pass on it,” Gormley told Bark. “I have nothing but glowing things to say about Channel 11 … I’m leaving on great terms. I’m leaving on a high.”
