Kevin Roseborough Named News Director at WJBK in Detroit

wjbk logoKevin Roseborough has been named vice president and news director at WJBK, the Fox owned station in Detroit.

Roseborough joined WJBK in 2004 as the station’s managing editor. Since 2006, he has been assistant news director. He replaces Dana Hahn, who was recently named news director at WTTG, the Fox owned station in Washington, D.C.

“Kevin has played a major role in the success of FOX 2 news. His excellent editorial judgment and outstanding leadership made this decision an easy one,” WJBK vice president and general manager Mike Renda said in a statement.

Before joining WJBK, Roseborough worked at the Detroit Free Press, where he held a variety of positions including night city editor.

“There is nothing more important to me than the trust we have established with our viewers by providing them with relevant local news coverage at a time when Detroit faces some of the biggest challenges in its history,” Roseborough said.

DETROIT – Kevin Roseborough has been named Vice President and News Director of WJBK FOX 2, announced Mike Renda, the station’s Vice President and General Manager.

In making the announcement, Renda stated, “Kevin has played a major role in the success of FOX 2 news. His excellent editorial judgment and outstanding leadership made this decision an easy one.”

Roseborough joined FOX 2 in 1994 as Managing Editor. He then became Executive Producer of the Problem Solvers investigative unit for eight award-winning years. Since 2006, he has served as Assistant News Director of WJBK. Prior to joining FOX 2, Roseborough worked at the Detroit Free Press for 11 years in a variety of editing positions, including Night City Editor.

Added Roseborough, “It’s a thrill to be leading the outstanding FOX 2 news team I have worked alongside for 19 years. There is nothing more important to me than the trust we have established with our viewers by providing them with relevant local news coverage at a time when Detroit faces some of the biggest challenges in its history. A Grosse Pointe Farms resident, Roseborough is a graduate of the University of Michigan. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism.
