KSNV will debut a 7 p.m. newscast and shuffle its anchor lineup this fall, the Las Vegas NBC affiliate announced today.
In place of Synder and Moore at 11 p.m., Reed Cowan, who currently anchors at 4 p.m., will add the 11 p.m. newscast to his schedule. He will anchor alongside Mackenzie Warren, who is currently a KSNV reporter.
Weekend evening anchor Gerard Ramalho will move to weekdays, anchoring the 6 p.m. newscast alongside Marie Mortera. On weekends, Krystal Allen moves from mornings to evenings. Michelle Velez will be the new weekend morning anchor.
“These are very exciting times at News 3 as KSNV prepares to launch the only 7:00 p.m. newscast in southern Nevada,” VP-GM Lisa Howfield said in a statement. “We are genuinely thrilled to expand our news operation to cover all the important stories with a team of dedicated journalists in the field and at the anchor desk.”
“Ralston Reports,” which currently airs at 7:30 p.m., will shift an hour earlier to 6:30 p.m.

KSNV NEWS 3, the southern Nevada NBC affiliate, announced the official launch date of September 16, 2013 for the new 7p.m. newscast airing weeknights.

The prime access time slot is currently occupied with Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and Ralston Reports with Jon Ralston. “We’ve made arrangements for the fans to watch the game shows on another channel while providing southern Nevada a news program that fits current viewing schedules,” Stoldal adds.
Ralston Reports with Jon Ralston will move from its current 7:30 p.m. time slot to 6:30 p.m.

Our news will become far more substantive and far more related to your life. You will be able to look to us for the information and analysis that you need to make intelligent decisions on matters that are of critical importance to you. We will begin an hour long news at 7 p.m. this fall and in following September we will no longer have Dr. Phil with us and will we have another hour of local news. “
The new “NEWS 3 AT 7” will welcome the familiar team of News 3 anchors Jim Snyder and Jessica Moore. The pair will continue with anchoring the highly popular “NEWS 3 AT 5” which continues to be the most-watched 5 p.m. program for southern Nevada.
Weather anchor Kevin Janison will join NEWS 3 AT 7 while continuing with the 4 p.m., 5 p.m. 6 p.m. and the 11 p.m. broadcast.
“NEWS 3 NIGHTLY AT 6” will welcome the teaming of Gerard Ramalho and Marie Mortera.
News 3 viewers have come know Ramalho for his excellence reporting and weekend anchoring.
Mortera will continue to anchor NEWS 3 AT 4 in addition to reporting the popular series Crime Tracker 3 and Rip-Off Report.
NEWS 3 NIGHTLY AT 6 continues to follow the highly popular 5:30 p.m. broadcast of “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams.” Southern Nevada viewers continue to make the NBC network their first choice for network news starting with “The Today Show” and continuing with Brian Williams in the evening.
Weeknights at 11 p.m. welcomes the teaming of Reed Cowan and Mackenzie Warren. Warren wraps up her assignment as Capital Correspondent reporting live from Carson City throughout the 2013 Nevada Legislative session. NEWS 3 was the only local television news station to provide viewers a full-time reporter during the Legislative Session.
Weekends will see Michelle Velez anchoring mornings and Krystal Allan anchoring the evening and nightly newscasts.
Tom Hawley will continue with live SKY 3 helicopter reports in both morning and evening newscasts as well as his popular VIDEO VAULT that steps back in time to recall a significant newsworthy event in southern Nevada history.
Kevin West will continue providing local and national sports coverage.
News 3’s Wake Up with the Wagners with (husband and wife team) Kim and Dana Wagner continues to be the most watched morning program airing weekdays 4:30 a.m.- 7 a.m. having dominated the morning time period for years. NBC’s The Today Show mornings on KSNV News 3 remain southern Nevada’s favorite network morning show and continues to dominate during the 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. weekday time period.
