Ken Bolinger, a master control operator who was recently fired by WTWO in Terre Haute, IN, was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly opened fire at the station around 4 a.m. Saturday.

Bolinger, 24, was taken into custody Saturday afternoon after police responded to reports of gunfire at the station. According to his Facebook page, Bolinger, who goes by his middle name Trey, worked as master control operator at WTWO from June 21, 2011 to March 26, 2012.

He was apparently terminated from his job for bringing a gun to work.

“I was recently released from my job at WTWO-TV for taking advantage of my 2nd amendment rights with a license to conceal,” Bolinger declares on his Google+ page.

According to police reports, Bolinger fired multiple rounds through the station’s glass front entrance, and also fired into a station vehicle as well as a private vehicle in the parking lot. There were no injuries.

On Saturday afternoon, police searched the house Bolinger shares with his parents and discovered evidence related to the incident. Bolinger was arrested around 3 p.m. and charged with criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, a Class C felony, and three counts of criminal mischief, a Class D felony.

WTWO vice president and general manager Tim Sturgess declined to comment on the incident, citing the station’s policy not to comment on personnel matters.
