Meteorologist Leaves WPTZ for BBQ

After more than a decade with WPTZ, meteorologist Jim Moore is leaving the NBC-affiliate for a BBQ restaurant.

Moore, who works WPTZ’s morning newscast, has decided to exit the TV business and open a Dickey’s Barbecue franchise in the area.

“There is no good barbecue in the North Country,” Moore said recently of the Plattsburgh, NY/ Burlington, VT market.

“Jim’s been a rock for our morning team over the years,” WPTZ news director Sinan Sadar said, in announcing Moore’s departure. “His enthusiasm has been a great asset in front of as well as behind the camera. He will be missed.”

The station plans to announce Moore’s replacement soon.
