Reporter Chases Down Suspects While Covering Church Vandalism

WGHP reporter Mitch Carr and photojournalist Mike Durenberger were working on a story about a local church that had been vandalized the night before when they discovered smoke coming out of the building and two teenagers at the scene, one holding a lighter.

“Usually the way this job works is we show up and we talk to people and we try to tell their story,” Carr told viewers. “But today my photojournalist and I ended up right in the middle of this one.”

Carr chased after one of the teenagers while Durenberger called the police, who later arrested the two suspects.

Carr apparently captured video on his phone as he gave chase. Here’s his report…
