Salt Lake City’s KUTV Expands Morning Newscasts
KUTV is expanding its morning news coverage by adding a weekend news show and by extending the weekday show by a half-hour, the Salt Lake Tribune reports.
The Salt Lake City CBS affiliate’s weekend show begins next weekend and will air from 7 to 8 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday while the weekday show will begin at 4:30 a m.
There’s no indication from KUTV who will anchor the weekend morning news. We have reached out to the station and will update with any new information.
>Update: KUTV news director Jennifer Dahl told TVSpy, “We are very excited about this news expansion. We believe the time is right for Utah’s #1 News Station to add to our weekday AM newscast. We think weekend morning news is a key area to serve our viewers better”
Dahl also said Amy Nay will join KUTV as weekend anchor. Nay, who comes from News12 in Westchester, NY will be joined by meteorologist Lindsay Storrs who adds the morning shift to her evening newscasts. A second anchor will be named early next week.
