Kim Carrigan is speaking out on her recent dismissal from Boston Fox O&O WFXT.

“I really hoped for a different outcome,” Carrigan told the Boston Herald. “I’m not going to say that I was shocked, but I’m disappointed. My intention was to stay.”

Carrigan, who joined WFXT in 2004, was told after Tuesday’s morning newscast that she had anchored her last show. A Fox spokesperson said only that Carrigan’s contract was not renewed.

Carrigan, who the Herald calls the “grand dame” of Boston television, said her story should serve as a warning to high-profile, high-salaried anchors in local news. Read more
