Vanessa Bezic joins San Diego’s CBS affiliate KFMB as the morning and mid-day meteorologist.
KFMB news director Dean Elwood tells TVSpy, Bezic starts at the station in a few weeks, on September 24. Her first day on-air is not set.
Bezic previously worked for Accuweather as a bi-lingual meteorologist. She’s also worked in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Topeka, and Chicago.

A day after saying goodbye to Roland Steadham, KTVX introduced AccuWeather veteran Jim Kosek as its new chief meteorologist.
Kosek has been with AccuWeather for the past 25 years, working out of the company’s State College headquarters.
KTVX news director Larry Perret sent an email out to staff this afternoon, announcing the hiring. Kosek’s first day at the station will be January 18th.
While with AccuWeather, Kosek delivered forecasts for a number of markets in the northeast, including New York, Philadelphia, and D.C. He also became known for his madcap delivery, especially when there was snow in the forecast, and there are dozens of videos on YouTube archiving his nuttier moments on-air. Read more
The earthquake that rumbled through the Northeast on Tuesday afternoon put an end to Jeannette Calle‘s weather forecast (video above).
Calle was taping a weather report for AccuWeather at the company’s headquarters in State College, PA when the earthquake hit.
“Why is everything shaking?” Calle asked, stopping her forecast, as the quake rattled equipment in the studio. Read more
WCBS has reportedly hired weathercaster Katie Fehlinger.
Fehlinger comes to the CBS flagship from AccuWeather, where she’s worked as a host and producer since 2006.
TVSpy’s sister site FishbowlNY has learned that Fehlinger is set to join the station by the end of March. Although WCBS had no comment regarding Fehlinger, FishbowlNY reports that she was recently seen taking a tour of the station with news director David Friend.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Fehlinger is currently working towards a certificate in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. She has been hosting AccuWeather’s “Headline: Earth,” a series covering climate change.
