Audrey Kuchen Promoted to Weekday Evening Anchor at WTIC

audrey-kuchen3WTIC, the FOX affiliate in Hartford-New Haven, CT, has promoted Audrey Kuchen from weekend evening anchor to weekday evening anchor. According to New England One, she will be co-anchoring the 5:00 p.m., 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. broadcasts with Brent Hardin.

Kuchen wrote a lengthy Facebook post about her new promotion, where she describes how she’s known she wanted to be an anchor since second grade.

Prior to joining WTIC in 2010, Kuchen worked at FOX affiliate KMVU and NBC affiliate KOBI in Medford, Oreg, where she was an anchor and producer.

Hartford’s WTIC Partners With Local Newspaper

Hartford Fox-affiliate WTIC has announced a partnership with a local newspaper in the region, the Merdian Record-Journal.

The station has built a studio in the Record-Journal newsroom, according to a station statement on the partnership. The WTIC 4 p.m. newscast, which is anchored by Brent Hardin, will feature live reports by the newspaper’s reporters.

“Any opportunity where we can share local content is a win-win for the viewers and readers of these two outstanding news organizations,” WTIC vice president and general manager Rich Graziano said in a statement.

Hartford’s WTIC Shuffles Anchors As Sarah French Departs for Boston’s WHDH

Former WTIC morning anchor Sarah French (pictured, left) is headed for Boston’s WHDH as weekend anchor, and WTIC is using her departure as an opportunity to shuffle existing talent, The Hartford Courant reported today.

On September 18, Alison Morris — currently weekend evening anchor at the Hartford-New Haven Fox affiliate — will replace Erika Arias on the station’s 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday broadcasts. Morris will co-anchor with Brent Hardin, the current 10 p.m. anchor, for both broadcasts.

Arias, meanwhile, will be setting her alarm a little bit earlier: on September 19, she will replace French as Logan Byrnes‘ co-anchor on the morning show, from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. Read more
