Former Buffalo Meteorologist Lands in Louisville

shaw signing whas croppedBryan Shaw, the meteorologist who reportedly made a quick exit from Buffalo’s WIVB, has been hired in Louisville, KY.

WHAS GM Linda Danna confirmed with TVSpy Shaw will be the weekend weather guy and will also work as a general assignment reporter.

“I can now announce that I have accepted a position with WHAS in Louisville,” Shaw wrote on his facebook page. “I start July 7th and will be leaving WNY at the end of the month. Thank you everyone for your kind words over the past two weeks and please keep in touch!”

Shaw has also worked at WOWK in Huntington, WV, and WOAY in Beckley, WV.

Bryan Shaw Makes Quick Exit from WIVB

shaw640_20120712145530_640_480Bryan Shaw, meteorologist for Buffalo CBS affiliate WIVB abruptly left the station, according to Buffalo News media writer Alan Pergament.

“I just wanted to let you all know that today was my last day at Ch. 4,” Shaw posted on his facebook page. “It has been a pleasure. I really have enjoyed my time here and appreciate all of you.”

Shaw started at WIVB in June 2011. Before coming to Buffalo he worked at WOWK in Huntington, WV, and WOAY in Beckley, WV.

TVSpy asked WIVB for comment, but has not heard back.

WIVB Expands Weekend Morning Newscasts

Buffalo CBS affiliate WIVB has expanded its weekend morning newscasts, according to the Buffalo News.

Previously, WIVB’s weekend morning newscast was one hour long, airing at 7 a.m. Saturdays and 8 a.m. Sundays. The expanded newscasts, anchored by Nalina Shapiro (pictured) with meteorologist Bryan Shaw, run from 7 to 9 a.m. both days.

“Our viewers asked for more news and ‘4-Warn’ weather coverage on the weekend,” news director Joseph Schlaerth said.

Reporter Crystal Haynes is leaving WTNH after four years to join Boston Fox O&O WFXT.

Investigative producer Dave Manoucheri has landed at Sacramento’s KCRA, a Hearst-owned NBC-affiliate, after spending ten years with the CBS Television Stations Group with KOVR and KCRA.

Reporter Chris Stanford joins WCCO in Minneapolis-St. Paul. Stanford previously worked for WQOW in Eau Claire, WI.

Jaime McCutcheon is the new 10 p.m. anchor at WHNS and NewsChannel 12 in the Greenville-New Bern-Washington market. Read more
