NY1′s Pat Kiernan to Host CNBC Reality Show

NY1 anchor Pat Kiernan is the new host of “Crowd Rules,” a reality competition series that CNBC is launching in primetime.

Each week’s show will feature three small businesses that will compete for a $50,000 prize in front of a studio audience.  Kiernan will co-host with jewelry designer Kendra Scott and a rotating industry expert.

Longtime CNBC Anchor Mark Haines, Formerly of KYW, WABC, and WPRI, Passes Away

CNBC anchor Mark Haines died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday night.

The founding anchor of CNBC’s “Squawk Box” and longtime co-anchor of the network’s “Squawk on the Street” show, Haines worked for Philadelphia’s KYW, New York’s WABC, and Providence’s WPRI before joining the cable network in 1989.

According to TVNewser, CNBC announced Haines’s death this morning at 9:53 a.m. ET during “Squawk on the Street,” the show that he would normally be anchoring. Anchor Carl Quintanilla read a statement from CNBC president Mark Hoffman.

The NYSE floor observed a moment of silence in Haines’s honor today. He was 65.
