Morning Anchor Deana Silk Leaving KJRH

deana silkDeana Silk is set to sign off from KJRH, the NBC affiliate in Tulsa, in August. Silk has worked at the station since January 2005 and has most recently anchored the morning newscast.

“The past 10 years have been exciting, challenging… a dream come true! I have met so many wonderful people and have made lifelong friends. I will miss the crazy news business but I’m excited for a new challenge and new adventure with my family,” Silk wrote on Facebook.

Silk said her husband has accepted at job in Oklahoma City, and she is looking for a job and planning “to spend some extra time with my little one.”

KJRH Moves George Flickinger To Weekday Mornings

Beginning next week, weekend meteorologist George Flickinger will move to the weekday morning spot on Tulsa NBC-affiliate KJRH.

Flickinger replaces Julie Chin, who is leaving the station after 9 years for personal reasons, according to the official station announcement. Her last day will be December 23.

Flickinger, a meteorologist at KJRH since 1996, will join co-anchors Deana Silk and Justin Wilfon on the weekday morning newscasts. In announcing the changes, news director Steve Weinstein said the station was “fortunate to be able to hire from within.”
